I
’m sure you have heard it before –
the race is not to the swiftest but to those who endure to the end; even so, many individuals are still driven by the notion that they must win right now or they won’t win at all.
But with the superman speed with which we chase behind everything (except our true self) most of us are really not giving ourselves time to endure the race.
We are either disengaged or obsessed with what we see rather than what they feel in our hearts.
This causes many to subscribe to the delusion that everything they see they need to have and they need to have it now.
Of course this is the kind of fallacy that eventually lead to resentfulness towards life itself; causing people to settle for the sidelines of their life’s game.
Question – How do I give myself time to win?
The Burden of Instant Gratification
Here’s another hot flame, with the explosion of
i products, like
iPods,
iPhones etc., many people have a new fixation for these latest gadgets.
And while the
‘i’ may have a specific meaning, I suggest that it stands for the ‘
instant’.
Because when things selling like hot cake people want what they want and they want it instantly; regardless of cost.
The problem goes even further when you consider how quickly new gadgets are bought to market, many people believe that they are anxiously trying to keep up with technology; but the fact is technology is only trying to keep up with
us.
We, after all are the thinkers who think the thoughts that make the things.
What you must also understand is that when you saddle yourself with the burden of instant gratification, you keep yourself separated from your winning edge.
It takes time, commitment and sincere effort to build a wall of confidence and accept that you are born to win.
Parole Yourself from Your Prison of Fear
Winning is not necessarily easy, but its possibility begins with you believing that you can win.
For the most part, people are stuck more by the phobia of losing rather than driven by the possibility of winning.
Fear is truly a powerful emotion; but it’s not the emotion itself that need to be feared, but rather how it’s expressed.
For example fear can be a life saving motivator for you to run away in the face of danger or push you into action to protect a child from peril.
When you become more aware of the freeing elements of fear, you can more aptly give yourself permission to parole yourself from the prison of fear in order to provide room for you to succeed.
